Town of North Elba Community Pickleball Courts Near Completion

June 6, 2024

North Elba, NY – The Town of North Elba is excited to announce that the community pickleball courts located at the North Elba Show Grounds & Athletic Fields are nearing completion. They are projected to be ready for public use by June 15th.

From June 10th to June 14th, a specialized crew from JM Pro Courts and Solutions will be on-site to complete the painting and netting of the courts. The Town will also be installing benches and seasonal portable restrooms for use by players and spectators.

Pending favorable weather and timely completion of the remaining tasks, the Town aims to officially open the courts by June 15th. Community members are encouraged to stay tuned for further announcements regarding the official opening date.

As part of the final preparations, newly seeded grass has been planted around the court area. Residents and visitors are kindly asked to minimize their impact on these areas.

The construction of the pickleball courts has been funded through a combination of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), the Town of North Elba, and the Local Enhancement and Advancement Fund (LEAF), which specifically provided funding for the fencing.

“We are thrilled to bring these pickleball courts to the North Elba community,” said Matt St. Louis, North Elba Park District Manager. “This project represents a significant investment in our community’s recreational facilities, and we look forward to seeing people of all ages enjoying these courts for many years to come.”

The pickleball courts are located behind the North Elba Athletic Fields and can be accessed via Recycle Cir Lane. They will be open from dawn to dusk.
