The Community Development Department works with community partners, Town and Village appointed volunteer committees, and municipal departments to facilitate programs and projects in the Town and the Village. These projects include housing, economic diversification, climate change and clean energy, recreation and facilities, and community planning initiatives. The Department regularly seeks out funding to help facilitate these initiatives.

Projects are drawn in large part from the 2011 Town and Village Joint Comprehensive Plan and are intended to create stronger and more connected communities that sustain or enhance local vitality.

Development Commission & Standing Committees

The Development Commission is a group of Town and Village appointed volunteers tasked with implementing the Comprehensive Plan. This Commission works with the Community Development Department in the facilitation of projects. The three standing sub-committees - the Housing Committee, Appearance Committee, and Arts Alliance - provide support related to their specific missions.
